Kenwood

Kenwood is located 16 miles west of Sonoma and  is the closest community in Sonoma Valley to Santa Rosa, only 12 miles.  The unincorporated city has 1,732 citizen which are living in 726 households.

Originally settled by Indians, with the discovery of Gold in California,  American and European settlers came and developed the area primarily for agriculture.

Today the agriculture is dominated by wineries and vineyards. Over 13 wineries have chosen Kenwood as their place to be.

The historic Kenwood Railroad depot is used as the community hall. It was once a busy stop between Sonoma and Santa Rosa, but the railroad left long ago.
